Two Mercer Groups Receive State Grants

Sharon, Mercer County Conservation District get Growing Greener Funding

The City of Sharon and the Mercer County Conservation District will receive Growing Greener grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).

The City of Sharon will receive $100,000 for Phase II of the Pine Run Embankment Restoration Project. The Mercer County Conservation District will get $7,325 for the formation of the Cool Spring Creek Watershed Association.

"This is a great investment by the state in protecting the natural beauty of Pine Run and Cool Spring Creek and improving the quality of life for the residents of Mercer County," Senator Robbins said. "The state is partnering with local organizations to make a real difference in our environment."
