FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Senate Approves Stevens' Appointment to BenchWill fill judicial vacancy on Crawford County Court of Common Pleas The Senate today confirmed the nomination of Mark D. Stevens to fill a judge vacancy on the Crawford County Court of Common Pleas, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50). "I strongly supported the Senate's confirmation of Mark Stevens to serve as a Crawford County Judge," Senator Robbins said. "The truth is this was a very easy vote for the Senate. Judge Stevens is more than qualified to be seated on the bench. He has a solid reputation as a member of the Crawford County Bar and as an active member of the local community." On July 10, Governor Ed Rendell nominated Stevens to serve out the remainder of the term of Judge Gordon R. Miller, who retired. Stevens won both the Republican and Democratic nominations for the seat on the bench in the spring 2009 primary election. Contact: |
