Mercer County Receives Recycling Grant

Will receive $41,836 "reward" for performance

Mercer County will receive a $41,836 Recycling Performance Grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).

The grant is based on the 4,360.7 tons recycled and Mercer County’s overall population during 2007, Senator Robbins said.

"This grant shows that recycling is working in Mercer County. It rewards the community for its efforts and shows that recycling does pay off, both in preserving our environment and in funds from the state," Senator Robbins said.
