Robbins, Brooks Announce Grant for Greenville Symphony

$5,000 will support "Young People's Concert"

The Greenville Symphony Orchestra will receive a $5,000 Community Revitalization state grant to support the "Young People's Concert" held annually at the Passavant Center of Thiel College, State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and State Representative Michele Brooks (R-17) announced today.

"I am honored to secure this grant to support this important program that helps foster the appreciation of music among our young people," Senator Robbins said. "This program gives students the opportunity to experience first hand a symphony performance, which hopefully helps them gain a better appreciation for fine orchestral music."

"This is another way that we can help broaden the experience of our youth and hopefully foster a greater appreciation for the fine arts," said Representative Brooks.  "This grant provides essential support for an important program."

The Community Revitalization Grant program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
