Robbins, Brooks Announce Grant for Jamestown Fair

$15,000 Will Go Toward Needed Improvements

The Jamestown Fair will receive a $15,000 Community Revitalization state grant to rehabilitate and upgrade its facilities, State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and State Representative Michele Brooks (R-17) announced today.

Fair organizers plan to use the money to improve areas such as the Fair Ring Entrance, the Fairground walkway and livestock barns.

"The fair is the highlight of the year for many people of all ages and I am pleased that we are able to help make it take care of some persistent problems that need to be addressed," Senator Robbins said.

"This grant is especially important to a small community such as Jamestown," said Representative Brooks.  "This money is a substantial investment in an event that plays an important role by bringing visitors to our community while also preserving an important tradition for the area."

The Community Revitalization Program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
