Grove City Airport Nets $292,500 in Grants

Funding to construct t-hangar taxiways

A construction project at the Grove City Airport will receive $292,500 in block grants, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50).

The Airport will receive the funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Bureau of Aviation 2007 Block Grant Program (which includes federal and state money) to construct t-hangar taxiways for access to new aircraft storage hangars which are being built at the same time.

"I am very pleased that this project is receiving a significant grant," Senator Robbins said. "The new hangars and new access taxiways will allow for increased traffic at this important regional airport. The truth is smaller airports are becoming increasingly more important as economic development marketing tools. Businesses are looking for ways to make travel and shipping of materials more convenient and less time consuming."
