Robbins Announces Meadville Area Water Protection Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of a state water protection grant for the Meadville Area Water Authority.

Robbins said the $40,627 Source Water Protection Grant will be used to develop local programs to protect the community's source of drinking water. The initiative will focus on developing protection measures for ground water resources through wellhead protection efforts.

"Drinking water is only as good as its source, and these funds will help protect the quality of drinking water for customers of the Meadville Area Water Authority," said Robbins.

The Source Water Protection Grant Program is administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
