Robbins, Gruitza Announce Buhl Community Water Protection Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and state Representative Mike Gruitza (D-7) today announced the approval of a state water protection grant for the Buhl Community Water Company of Mercer County.

The legislators said the $28,412 Source Water Protection Grant will be used to develop local programs to protect the community's source of drinking water. The initiative will focus on developing protection measures for ground water resources through wellhead protection efforts.

"Drinking water is only as good as its source, and these funds will help protect the quality of drinking water for Buhl Community Water Company customers," said Robbins.

"I am pleased to join Senator Robbins in announcing this grant for the Buhl Community Water Company. Quality drinking water is essential for healthy and thriving communities," added Gruitza.

The Source Water Protection Grant Program is administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
