Robbins Announces Mercer County Solid Waste Management Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the approval of a state grant to help plan for solid waste management in Mercer County.

Robbins said the Mercer County Solid Waste Authority will receive $13,261 as reimbursement for 80 percent of the cost of revising the county's solid waste management plan.

"The state mandates that counties spend a lot of money meeting state standards for handling waste. It is important that we work to secure this state funding to help Mercer County cover these costs," said Robbins.

The grant was awarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection through the County Planning Grant Program.
