Robbins, Stevenson Announce $97,500 Grant for Grove City Municipal Airport

Harrisburg – State Sen. Bob Robbins (R-50) and Rep. Dick Stevenson (R-8) today announced the approval of a $97,500 grant for an important project at Grove City Airport.

The legislators said the grant, awarded by the state Department of Transportation, will be used to rehabilitate a hangar apron and taxiway.

"Grove City Airport and the many smaller airports in our region are a very important part of the area's transportation system," said Robbins. "Dependable airport service is vital for promoting economic development and job creation."

"It's important that the state and federal governments contribute to the maintenance of not just the big city airports, but the smaller ones as well," said Stevenson.

The grant was part of more than $16 million in state and federal funds being awarded to help finance improvements at 31 public-use airports in the Pennsylvania. The funding is provided through a percentage of the state and federal tax on aviation fuels.
