Robbins, Gruitza Announce $350,000 Wheatland Housing Rehab Grant

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and Representative. Mike Gruitza (D-7) today announced the awarding of a $350,000 grant to support housing rehabilitation in Wheatland Borough.

The legislators said the HOME program funds would provide deferred loans to an estimated 21 families with very low incomes to bring their single-family homes up to standards.

"When you improve homes, it reflects on the entire community. These loans will provide a boost that goes beyond the families involved," said Robbins.

"Housing rehabilitation is an ongoing need, as housing stock continues to age. This grant will be put to very good use in Wheatland Borough," said Gruitza.

HOME is a federally-funded program that provides local governments with loan assistance and technical assistance to expand the supply of decent and affordable housing for low-income Pennsylvanians.

The program is administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
