Robbins Announces New Grant to Help Small Businesses Reduce Energy Consumption, Pollution

Harrisburg – State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) today announced the awarding of newly available state funds to help small businesses reduce energy consumption and pollution.

Robbins said Meadville Sandblasting Inc. is receiving a $7,500 Small Business Advantage grant. The company will use the grant to purchase and install an upgraded compressor.

Small Business Advantage provides a 50-percent matching grant of up to $7,500 to encourage the implementation of equipment or processes to reduce energy consumption and pollution, while helping to increase profitability for small businesses.

"Environmental regulations require small businesses to devote more and more resources to reducing pollution, so it is only right that the state makes this kind of assistance available," said Robbins.  "Small businesses are the main job-creators in our communities, and assistance such as this can help them devote more resources to adding jobs."
