FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Titusville Receives $12,000 State GrantTruck survey to consider traffic flow around the city The City of Titusville will receive a $12,000 Community Revitalization grant to cover a portion of the costs of a survey of truck traffic in and around the community, according to Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) who assisted Titusville in securing the grant. The Titusville Truck Study is intended to be a comprehensive review of existing conditions and a projection of future trends, particularly based on commercial vehicles generated by industries surrounding the city. "This study would look at all of the conditions now and in the future," Senator Robbins said. "We have seen some real economic success stories in the area, but with development we are also seeing increases in track traffic. The truth is Titusville, like many older cities in Pennsylvania, has many streets that just are not capable of handling big rigs. This study will consider the entire Titusville region and suggest ways that the community can adapt to handle the trucks, while improving safety and traffic flow." The Community Revitalization Program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development Contact: Michael Hengst |
